CONTENTMENT - AND THEN WHAT....

In his letter to the Philippians, St Paul writes: I do not complain because I have learnt that in whatever state I am, to always be content.

I know how to be poor and I know how to be rich.

I have been through my initiation, now I am ready for anything, anywhere, full stomach or empty, poverty or plenty, there is nothing I cannot master with the help of the one who gives me strength.

GOD'S PROVIDENCE

If God is our Father, then He is watching over absolutely everything in our life by His providence.

He is giving us everything we need and guiding all things for good, because we love Him.

He wants us to live like His sons and daughters.

DO NOT WORRY

So, we should spend time with God in prayer, think, ask for guidance, make plans, take responsibility and do whatever that is in our power, but do not worry, do not complain, do not blame.

Do what we can and leave the rest to God, and always be content.

Because in everything, the Father is giving us Jesus, and Jesus is enough.

NOT STOPPING AT GRATITUDE

A key part of being content is gratitude and using our gifts for the good of others.

Gratitude and awareness - doing something more than being content.

This means not only being content where we are at, but also to use it accordingly.

It is not enough to be content and to have gratitude, especially if it leads us to complacency.

We need to use/leverage with what God has given us for the good of others.

BEING HELD BACK

Often, we feel we cannot do anything yet, we feel held back from the thing that we need to accomplish God's mission.

We aspire, but we fall into the danger of not appreciating where we are at and utilising it correctly.

GOD IS GUIDING EVERYTHING

God in His providence is guiding everything in our lives.

Look at what happens in our life not from a negative standpoint but looking at it as God's guiding it - if He has got me to this situation right now, it is because He wanted it.

God does not put us in a position where we can do nothing good for Him.

We might be in a marriage which is difficult, a job that is difficult, we may be in health situations that are difficult, we have all kinds of things that we may think are preventing us from doing God's will and from reaching our potential.

But know that God in his providence is guiding everything.

The very situation we are in is God's providence.

He is allowing it precisely so that we can fulfill His will and reach our potential.

Know that whatever situation we are in is allowed from the hand of God, accept it knowing that He is using it.

ALWAYS BE CONTENT

God's providence is guiding every situation is our lives.

He is using it for my greatest good and the good of others.

The more we can see that everything in our life is either what God wills directly, or allows, then everything is from His hand, then we should see that it is all for the best.
