THE THEO DRAMA VS THE EGO DRAMA
Excerpt from Rev Fr Robert Barron's reflections in the second Joyful mysteries of the Rosary (the Visitation of Mary)
The ego drama is play that I am writing, I am producing, I am directing and I am starring.
We see this everywhere. Freedom of choice reign supreme. I become the person i choose to be.
But the Theo Drama is the great Story being told by God, the great Play being directed by God.
What makes life thrilling is the discovering of my role in that Drama.
And this is what happened to Mary, she has found her role in the Theo drama and she wants to commune with Elizabeth who had also discovered her role in that same Drama.
Have we searched for our place in God's story?
Are we ready to abandon our ego drama for the Theo Drama with a response as bold and simple as Mary's?
