JESUS WANTED TIME ALONE WITH ME

Recent events and chats with friends prompted me to more consistently pursue my exercise regime - walks and cycling.  So, I have been looking out for, and inviting walking companions but none readily agreed.  At dinner one of these evenings with old friends, one of them inspired me with her daily hour long morning walks.  Before bed that night, I decided I would go ahead albeit by myself.  I set the alarm for 7am.

I woke up on time and set off for the walk alone.  As soon as I started the walk, my heart thanked the Lord for the beautiful morning and the peace.

I prayed the morning prayer with an audio app, which took 18 beautiful minutes.

Then I listened to the day's scripture readings.  I had reached Frankel by then, witnessing the neighbourhood "waking up".  I  decided to pop into a quiet cafe to have my morning Picolo along with a cup of water to refresh myself.   After that, I continued on my journey, delighting in  discovering new joints in the neighbourhood along Frankel road and the side lanes.

I refocused my attention on Scripture, and turned on an online rosary recording to pray along.  It was the Luminous mysteries.  Oh wow, the Lord spoke to me so comfortingly and gently over the next 30 minutes while contemplating His mysteries.  I was close to joyful tears at several junctures, awed by how He reaches out to me as I contemplated the mysteries in the Scriptures.

I set off on the walk alone, only to find out I was hardly alone - my Lord and King Jesus and His Mother was with me every step of the way.

I feel so blessed, so privileged, so honoured and so loved - recognising the hand of God in inspiring the walk, clearing obstacles and drawing me to this divine appointment with Him today so that He can have my full attention, to talk to me, to give me wisdom and to instruct me.

I am fortified and empowered with confidence, and I pray to have the perseverance to overcome distractions to continue to seek Him, putting quiet time with Him daily on priority.

May the Lord be praised for ever and ever.
