UNDERSTANDING THE OT THROUGH JESUS

 

 

 

Today Fr Bobby reminded us that Jesus is the key to understanding the Old Testament; the more we come to know Jesus in the New Testament, the mysteries of the Old Testament will be unfolded to us who seek.

He reminded us also to be patient and not be discouraged when we do not yet understand a certain passage or notion.  We wait patiently because the Holy Spirit knows our desire to seek understanding, and He will answered us. 

The entire Word of God is interconnected and the mysteries will be revealed to us.  Fr encouraged us to note down our questions as we  journey, and be awed how the Spirit answers the questions and quenches our thirst to know Him.

I can witness to this experience as I too have questions and doubts as I read the daily assigned chapters.  I had noted down the questions from the start, no matter how trivial.  And as I ploughed through the books in the past month, I can truly see how the Word of God reveals itself, and the answers to my questions presented to me, just as Fr said today.  

I thank the Lord for this grace, and I pray for the Spirit to sustain me with zeal and joy on this journey.  May the Lord be praised for ever and ever.
