PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Image
Prayer to the Holy Spirit Holy Spirit,  be behind me to support me,  in front of me to guide me,  above me to grant me wisdom, beside me to hold my hand and walk with me,  within me to help me live life abundantly And give me all the graces that I need to live and move and breath the life of Jesus in me, So that my foundations in life will be build on the power of the Word of God flowing from the Scriptures.   Dear Blessed Mother,  help me to say yes to God  so that I would, like you, magnify the Lord  and would proclaim that the Almighty has done great things for me, holy is His name! Amen!   (Rev Fr Simon Pereira)

TRHEE MAJOR REJECTIONS OF THE GOOD NEWS BY THE JEWS RECORDED IN THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES

Image
"It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you (the Jews).  Since you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves  unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles." When Peter and Paul preached to the Gentiles, many were converted. The Jews became jealous.   The Acts of the Apostles records 3 major rejections of the message by the Jews, one at each of the great centres:  Asia, Greece and Rome. At Antioch - Acts 13:44-52 At Corinth - Acts 18:5-6 At Rome - Acts 28:25-20 Each time,  Paul makes a point of proclaiming salvation to the Jews and is rejected.   Paul marks this rejection with a biblical gesture - twice shaking the dust and then putting the cap on it with a quotation from Isaiah 6:9 (which foretells this rejection)

A PSALM OF HOPE - PSALM 16

Image
Psalm 16 Song of Trust and Security in God 1   Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. 2  I say to the Lord , “You are my Lord;       I have no good apart from you. " 3  As for the holy ones in the land, they are the noble,      in whom is all my delight. 4  Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows; b ]">[ b ]      their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out      or take their names upon my lips. 5  The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;      you hold my lot. 6  The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;      I have a goodly heritage. 7  I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;      in the night also my heart instructs me. 8  I keep the Lord always before me;      because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken . 9  Therefore my hear...
